Our story
MY NAME IS BRYAN, THE FOUNDER OF DR. GRIT
Growing up, I always struggled with my self esteem. I was always the one who was picked on and bullied because of my weight and short stature. Because of this I developed severe social anxiety around the age of 12. It heavily affected my ability to make friends and form meaningful relationships.
During high school I had little friends and most days I would eat lunch alone. I always wore thick jackets to school every day regardless if it was 40 or 95 degrees out. I did whatever it took to hide my body. I found comfort in playing video games and eating which caused me to gain enough weight to be considered medically obese.
After I graduated high school in 2020 (yes the same year as COVID), I fell even further into my degenerative habits, seeking cheap dopamine and barely taking care of my body. One night I took a shower and walked past myself in the mirror and I was so unhappy with the way I looked I almost started crying. As I looked upon my massive potbelly and my acne ridden face, I realized that I wanted to change. I invested in some workout gear and did extended amounts of research on nutrition and fitness. In just one year I lost over 60 pounds and felt the best I had in over 10 years. Then it hit me. I wanted to help others who struggle with the same problems I had – make their own wellness comeback.
